Beings I know nothing about how the world of politics works I may be way off, but I figure if we, as the taxpaying voters who pay the salaries of those who are elected, are not happy with the choices we have been given for presidential candidates; couldn’t we nominate someone else to run as well? What could it hurt to put one of US in a position of power? At least I (the Hick Chick) knows what the important issues are to the average joe. I would never act as immature as they do with all of their name calling and drama plus,I would be the first president to insist on receiving a salary that is comparable to the average income earned in the u.s. Why not? I mean the job comes with a house, a car, food and clothing already.
I once read about this man who was employed by a small company that was owned by a group of people. The man assured them that he could make their lives better with just a little more money. The group believed in the man and the promises he made so they each began giving him money. Everyday he came, asking for more money, assuring them that he was working very hard for their needs. He said Trust me, everything i do is all for you.. Eventually the man became quite wealthy (from the $ the people gave him) . Now, the people who hired him were barely making ends meet. They drove cars that barely ran and even rode busses, He drove fancy cars and rode in limo’s . He still asked for money and they still gave it to him. The only vacation the people had known was camping for a weekend at the local lake, He owned several large vacation homes. yet he still took and they still gave. He dined with his family at the finest of restaraunts but the people barely kept food on the table. What kind of a person would do that ? He made promises he never intended to keep, he used their money to gain personal wealth and continued to do so for many years to come. How would you describe this person.? Kind hearted, sincere, honest, loyal, trustworthy??? Or do the words Selfish, liar, greedy, cold, dishonest, a bullshitter, maybe even manipulative come to mind? this person has a title a name that says it all- HE is the politician. He is every member of congress, the white house, the senate, mayors, etc. etc.
Too many people spend so much time Talking about what we should do to *save the planet, *save the whales, *stop animal cruelty, *stop child abuse, *stop illegal immigration, etc., but they never actually Do anything that really makes a difference. They tend to enable the problem as opposed to fixing or ending it.
For example; instead of spending efforts to house all of the millions of abandoned dogs and cats, they should put a five-year ban on breeding. Those who violate this rule would be charged an enormous fine and possibly lose their pets.
Instead of trying to find new sources for fuel we should stop letting our members of congress and other wealthy people waste the fuel we have flying around on their private jets and cruising their yachts. And set a rule that no more than two cars per family is permitted.
we would not need new sources of power if every car dealership and department stores and shopping malls, etc. did not need to use overkill when it comes to lighting. It is an enormous waste.
Everyone is yelling save the trees, don’t use plastic, go green!! Yet it’s our lawmakers and the big corporations that produce the products that are most harmful to our environment. The plastic and batteries used to make tech products. The tons of plastic used everyday for packaging at the warehouses that supply big businesses. And the stacks of paper that our govt. offices use to print useless information, are all beyond ridiculous and unnecessary If you have been to any govt. ran office or even a hospital lately you know what i mean by the stack of unnecessary paperwork they hand you on your way out the door.
If you want child abuse, domestic abuse and animal abuse to stop then make the punishment so severe that fear keeps people from becoming abusers. OR let the punishment fit the crime!!! that would definitely make people think twice. But slapping them on the hand or sending them to jail to hang with their buddies is not the answer And stop taking kids away from their parents and giving them to their grandparents. How stupid is that?? You are giving them to the people who raised the abusers in the first place
I am a country girl who also loves getting to wear my heels and dresses. I have three of the most beautiful girls, (which leads me to believe that it’s true that ‘the homeliest parents do make the best looking kids) My oldest daughter blessed me with three adorable granddaughters and one adorable grandson. To them I am Grami. But I only wear the title of Grami I don’t actually get to be one because they live two thousand miles away. I have always been referred to as bubbly, energetic, friendly and a people person but I prefer spending most of my time alone; I think I always have.
For my 8th birthday, my Gram, who called me her “brown-eyed beauty”, gave me two gifts. One was Little Women by L.M. Alcott . T he second gift was a hot pink diary that locked. Receiving those two things, especially from my Gram, has always meant so much to me because after reading the story of Jo and her sisters I began to LOVE reading and I read every heart-felt book I could get my hands on. However, to this day Little Women is still my favorite novel! With the diary I discovered that writing was something I really loved as well. I wrote short stories, I wrote about events in my life, my dreams, hopes, and ideas. My journals were like having the most trustworthy friend you could tell anything .So no matter what was going on in my life, no matter where I live, what my age is or even how busy my life might be I will always write in my journals.
Blogging- when I discovered WordPress I was so excited because I thought this would be the perfect place for me to ‘write’ about things I would like to share . Either as a source for having my writing critiqued by others, or so that i might share interesting facts and data that I am certain others like me are not aware of. However, since joining WP I have been inspired to do much more with my writing than originally intended . When i wrote DAD part 1 i was , in my mind, merely writing in my journal and i was shocked, surprised and quite delighted at the positive response i received. It made me feel like i am truly a part of a wonderful community of bloggers, called WORDPRESS. Thank you everyone.
I hear people saying all of the time that they blame the other party or one of the Presidents for the way things are for hardworking, taxpaying Americans. But the ONLY one they can truly blame are themselves for allowing these things to happen. I am not into politics, and i do not understand what it means to be a democrat or a republican ; but i also don’t understand why ‘ it is OUR money but THEY get to spend it’? and ‘why WE work for it yet THEY decide how to spend it’? ” WE”are the hard working true blue Americans who work a legitmate job who see the words gross and net on their pay stubs. I’m boggled because if the person paying another persons wages is considered their employer, wouldn’t every person who’s wages we pay be our employee? Don’t the senators, mayors, congressmen and even the presidents work for US? if so then why do THEY make all the decisions? Why do THEY tell US what to do and how to do it? Why is it that WE pay senators more than $200,000.00 a year which would take most of us five years to make, and we work more in a month then they do all year? Do you ever stop to think about how much money we actually hand over to our politicians every minute of everyday? Let’s say it’s your payday, so you get your check. you earned $2000 but THEY took 500 of it. Then you fill your gas tank up , you are paying tax per gallon on that. you buy a few items from the market and are taxed on that. you pay mortgage , insurance, utilities, and each include taxes. Your registration is due and you pay taxes on that. You by a new toothbrush, rent a car or water your lawn, you pay taxes on that. But how else can THEY afford to maintain their jets and vacation homes and lavish lifestyles right?I definetely don’t understand why THEY get to make EVERYTHING benefit them ? If everyo ne would stop blaming others WE could solve alot of OUR problems. Not world issues I mean the stuff you and I deal with everyday. But what do i know ? I’m just a HICK CHICK
what a concept right but then again if you really think about it, wouldn’t it make more sense to have someone who actually lives in the real world as our president or even in congress? I… Continue reading →
Every time i did something like trip over my own two feet or spill my milk at dinner Dad would say “atta’ boy” and when i began a sentence with “I want….” Dad’s response was “guess ya ought to get a job”. I can’t count the number of times he said both of those things to me. So whats the big deal? Right? Most of you have heard the same thing from your dad. But when my dad said it, people chuckled. They really got a kick out of hearing him say atta boy, and get a job to me. Why? Because I am a girl and only 7 or 8 years old at the time.!! So ya, it was silly for him to say those things to me but i never blinked an eye at its oddity. Sometimes, he would be calling for me but would accidently call out the names of my siblings first, i would hear him say Kim! I mean Dee, oh heck Samantha come here please. This was also a pretty goofy thing for him to call me beings my name is not Samantha nor is anyone in my family. We have all done it. We have called one of our children the name of one of our other kids, but dad sometimes would act like he forgot my name which is extremely ha ha beings we basically have the same name. Robert and Roberta. No dad did not have dimentia or any other form of memory loss it was just his way of razzing me . Just like when he would say “Hey motormouth, if you will stop talking for two minutes i will give you a dollar. I never did earn that dollar but at least he got a minute and a half of silence each time.
Dad is a very large man. Not real tall, but just a big person. The boys i grew up with or dated all said he was very intimidating .i was very tiny as a child and never felt even slightly intimidated by his size or strength. i respected him but did not fear him
